Houston, Texas – Jackeline Phillips became the first ever woman champion at US Tennis League, she captured her title on the 2019 Spring Season by defeating Mayen Akpan 6-4, 6-2 in the Finals.

After losing a close first set 4-6, Mayen remained competitive and changed the momentum starting the second set when she took a 2-0 lead but Jackeline raised her game to win 6 games in a row and claim the match.

The match was completed in 1 hour and 31 mins, 134 total points were played where Jackeline won 76 points and Mayen 58.

In the sweetest moment of the night the Champion dedicated the victory to her daughter and expressed her gratitude to the League. 

I want to dedicate this tournament victory to my daughter, likely she is going to watch me (highlights and interviews are posted online at ustennisleague.com). I want to say thanks US Tennis league for all they did, liked the tournament, the league and enjoyed every piece of it, I’m going to play again next season and honestly I wouldn’t change a thing about it, Very good!
